I was asked to write the Foreword for this short history of Woodlands Golf Club in the Melbourne sand belt, where we have been architectural consultants for several years. It is a fine course with typically beautiful Melbourne bunkering, relatively overlooked by outsiders because it is one of the few courses of that vintage where Dr. Alister MacKenzie did NOT stop when he made his tour of Australia in 1926.
