My friend Alfonso Erhardt grew up on the beautiful Neguri course in northern Spain, a Javier Arana design, and his love for it prompted this biography of Arana’s life and his courses. Arana partnered for a time with the English designer Tom Simpson and became Spain’s preeminent golf course designer, though he only designed a relative handful of golf courses in the country under the Franco regime.
